ISTANBUL (AA) - Deadpool & Wolverine movie posted a $205 million opening in the US, which is a record for a highest R-rated film ever, according to figures from Box Office Mojo, an American website that tracks box-office revenues.
The much-anticipated film, starring Canadian and American actor Ryan Reynolds and Australian actor Hugh Jackman, brought in revenues of $96 million on Friday and $61.5 million on Saturday and $47.5 million Sunday in the US, showed the figures.
The movie, part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), internationally saw $24 million revenue in China, $23 million in Saudi Arabia, followed by $22.1 in the UK and $18.7 million in Mexico through Sunday, according to the figures.
With a total revenue of $233.3 million in foreign markets, the film tallied a total revenue of $438.3 million so far globally, ranking sixth in Worldwide Box Office this year.
Produced by Marvel Studios, the movie is the 34th film in the MCU, while it is the sequel to Deadpool in 2016 and Deadpool 2 in 2018, in which Reynolds was one of the producers.
The film is the 10th time Jackman portrays superhero Wolverine.
