MIDDLE EAST

GAZA

Day 43 of the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of more than 12,000 Palestinians, including over 8,300 women and children, in addition to 30,000 injured. The death toll in Israel stands at 1,200, amid continuing international calls for an immediate cease-fire and the provision of health services and protection for civilians.

Following up on the deteriorating situation at Al-Shifa Hospital due to the ongoing Israeli raid, which Gaza's Health Ministry has warned on Saturday might cause starvation at the facility as it has been mostly cut off from food and water for the past eight days, while a communication outage has left it completely isolated from the world.

Between 7,000 and 10,000, including displaced people, patients, and medical staff at the hospital, are at risk due to the water and food shortages at the hospital, which has only received enough food for 400 people so far, according to the Gaza government.

WEST BANK

Continuing security tensions due to arrests and raids by the Israeli army in various parts of the occupied West Bank. Over 200 Palestinians have been killed and over 2,700 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory since Oct. 7, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. More than 2,800 people have also been detained by the Israeli army in the West Bank during the same period, according to figures released by prisoners' affairs groups.

LEBANON

BEIRUT - The tense situation on the southern border, confrontations, and intermittent exchanges of bombardment continue between the Israeli army on the one hand and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions in Lebanon on the other. Meanwhile, the latest death toll of Hezbollah militants has reached 76 since Oct. 8.


ARMENIA

YEREVAN - Fall session of Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) to begin.

INDIA

NEW DELHI - It has been seven days since collapsed tunnel stranded 40 mine workers in northern Uttrakhand state. Government has flown drilling machinery to reach workers deep inside tunnel. Reporter in New Delhi to follow up on efforts being made to rescue those trapped.
