Israel’s attack on Iran

Ongoing repercussions from Israel’s Saturday attack on Iran, which, according to Tel Aviv, was in retaliation for Iran’s Oct. 1 missile attack on Israel.

Israel said it carried out four hours of airstrikes on Iran targeting "military targets.” Tehran said it successfully thwarted attempts by Israel to attack certain points in Tehran and various regions of the country.

The Iranian military reported that four people were killed in Israel’s attack.

Many countries in the Mideast and elsewhere condemned the attack, calling it a violation of international law.


Israeli forces continue genocidal attacks in Gaza

Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling of the Gaza Strip continued.

The death toll in relentless Israeli attacks on the besieged enclave since last October climbed to 42,924, with over 100,833 injured.



Israel’s siege, ground incursion into northern Gaza

Israel's continuing, weeks-long siege, ground invasion, and aerial bombardment and artillery shelling in northern Gaza amid food, water, fuel, and medicine shortages.

Two Palestinians were killed on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike near a school that housed displaced people in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Causalities were reported due to Israeli bombardment that targeted five houses in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, local Al-Aqsa TV reported Saturday evening.

More than 820 Palestinians have so far been killed in 22-day Israeli military operation in northern Gaza, which Gaza officials describe as a "campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing," Gaza’s Government Media Office said Saturday.

The Israeli army withdrew on Saturday from Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, one of the few remaining medical centers serving the area, after wreaking havoc and destruction there.


Israeli aggression against Lebanon

Israel continued its attacks on Lebanon while Hezbollah continued to target Israel with rockets.

An Israeli airstrike on a health center in Bazouriye, southern Lebanon killed a civil defense medic and injured five others, including three medics, on Saturday, said the Lebanese Health Ministry, bringing the total number of health workers killed since October 2023 to 164, with 275 others injured.

Israeli forces on Saturday used phosphorus bombs on villages in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, accompanied by airstrikes on villages in Tyre, triggering multiple fires, according to local media.

Lebanese group Hezbollah said it struck military sites, groups of soldiers, and settlements in central and northern Israel.

At least 2,653 people have been killed and over 12,300 injured in Israeli attacks since last October, according to Lebanese health authorities.



Gaza cease-fire talks

Latest developments in Gaza cease-fire talks following Qatar’s announcement that it will host a new round of talks.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved an Israeli negotiating team going to Qatar on Sunday to discuss the possibility of moving Gaza negotiations forward.



West Bank raids

Israeli continued its military raids on Palestinian cities and towns in the occupied West Bank.

At least one Palestinian was killed and another injured Saturday by Israeli army fire in Tulkarm in the northern West Bank, according to local sources.

Israel has killed at least 760 people since last October, including 160 children, and injured over 6,250 others, with over 11,400 taken into custody.



Field developments in Sudan

Deteriorating security situation in Sudan amid clashes between army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.

At least 124 civilian Sudanese were killed in an attack carried out by Rapid Support Forces in the village of Alseriha in the Gezira State. The attack lasted for several hours and left dozens injured, while hundreds were displaced, according to the Sudan Doctors Network, an NGO.

Fighting between Russian, Ukrainian troops continues in Donetsk, Russia’s Kursk region

Russia and Ukraine continue fighting in Russia’s border region of Kursk, where Kyiv began an incursion in August, and in eastern Ukraine, where Moscow continues to claim advances on multiple fronts. Eurasia desk will particularly follow developments on Russian President Vladimir Putin's claims that about 2,000 Ukrainian troops are encircled in Kursk.
