Israel’s genocidal assault on embattled Gaza

Non-stop Israeli bombardment which continues to claim more Palestinian lives amid deteriorating living conditions.

Two Palestinians were killed and 26 others injured on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike targeting tents sheltering journalists and displaced people within Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, media office in the enclave said.

The number of Palestinian journalists killed since the Israeli onslaught which started on Oct. 7 last year has risen to 188, the Gaza media office said Saturday.

At least 44 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll to 43,552, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Saturday.


Israel’s expanding blockade, ground offensive in northern Gaza Strip

Israel's more than month-long siege, ground invasion, and bombardment of the northern Gaza Strip continue amid food, water, fuel, and medicine shortages.

In Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, an airstrike targeted on Saturday the Abu Jarad family's home in Al-Manshiyya, killing a resident and injuring four children.

Five Palestinians, including children, also lost their lives and four others were injured Saturday in an airstrike targeting a house in the Jabalia refugee camp, according to medical sources.


Israeli aggression in Lebanon

Israel's relentless attacks on Lebanon and the Hezbollah group's targeting of Israel with rockets and drones.

At least nine people were killed on Saturday, with dozens more injured from Israeli airstrikes on the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, according to Lebanon’s official news agency.

The Israeli army on Saturday claimed 43 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Upper, Western, and Lower Galilee and Haifa Bay in northern Israel.

The death toll from the ongoing Israeli onslaught on Lebanon since Oct. 8, 2023, reached 3,136 with 13,979 others wounded, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Saturday.


West Bank raids

Israel’s daily military raids on Palestinian cities and towns in occupied West Bank, and illegal settlers' violence against Palestinians and their properties.

A Palestinian was killed on Saturday as the Israeli army bombed the northern West Bank city of Tubas with an anti-tank Energa shell.

Israel has killed 780 people since October last year, including 160 children, and injured nearly 6,300 others, with over 11,600 taken into custody.


Gaza cease-fire talks

Anticipated Qatari and Hamas official statements regarding reports by international media, citing unnamed sources, that Doha will withdraw from mediation efforts for a cease-fire in Gaza until "Hamas and Israel demonstrate a sincere willingness to return to the negotiating table."

According to the sources, Qatar has also concluded that the political bureau of Hamas in Doha "no longer serves its purpose."


Saudi Arabia hosts preparatory ministerial meeting for extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit

The Saudi capital, Riyadh, will host on Sunday the preparatory ministerial meeting for the extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit, chaired by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, minister of foreign affairs of the Kingdom.

The meeting will be attended by Ahmed Aboul Gheit, secretary-general of the Arab League, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Hossam Zaki, assistant secretary-general of the Arab League.

It will focus on the ongoing Israeli aggression on Palestinian and Lebanese territories, as well as the current developments in the region.


Developments in Sudan

Deteriorating humanitarian and security situation in Sudan amid clashes between army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.

The death toll in the Al-Hilaliya city in Gezira State, central Sudan, reached 216 as a result of the siege and attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group that have been taking place since Oct. 25, Sudanese activists reported Saturday.


China’s vice premier to visit Singapore

China’s Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang to visit Singapore to co-chair with deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong the 20th meeting of China-Singapore Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation.


Ministerial Conference of Russia-Africa Partnership

The second day of the first Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership will be held at the Sirius University in the resort city of Sochi.

The foreign ministers of the Russian Federation and African states, as well as the leadership of the African Union Commission and major continental integration associations, will take part in the event.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to address the attendees of the meeting and hold several bilateral meetings.


⁠Fighting between Russian, Ukrainian troops continues in Kursk, Donetsk

Russia and Ukraine continue fighting in Russia’s border region of Kursk, where Kyiv began an incursion in August, and in eastern Ukraine, where Moscow continues to claim advances on multiple fronts.
