Leaders are expected to adopt a declaration at the end of the summit.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to appear in a news conference.

Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza

In its second year, the ongoing Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip continues to claim the lives of more Palestinians and worsen their living conditions.

On Monday, five people, including women and children, were killed and 10 others injured in an airstrike on a home west of Gaza City.

Six more people lost their lives in another strike targeting a refugee tent in al-Mawasi in the southern city of Khan Younis and Rafah.

The overall death toll in the Palestinian enclave since October last year soared to over 43,900, with nearly 103,900 others injured, according to the Health Ministry.

Lebanon cease-fire efforts

Developments on ongoing efforts to draft a cease-fire between Israel and Lebanon.

US envoy Amos Hochstein is set to visit Israel and Lebanon on Wednesday and Thursday to reach a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.

Israeli media reported that Hochstein's meetings visit will center on the American proposal for a cease-fire agreement between the two sides.

US Ambassador to Lebanon Lisa Johnson delivered the American proposal to Lebanese officials. Hezbollah reportedly provided a response, which Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri will relay to Hochstein during his visit to Beirut.

Last week, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed that Beirut has received a US proposal for a cease-fire with Israel.

He, however, denied that the proposal “includes any kind of freedom of movement for the Israeli army in Lebanon,” a condition he described as “unacceptable” and non-negotiable.

Meanwhile, Israel wants an agreement that would allow its army to strike against what it sees violating the cease-fire terms.

The scandals include attempts to alter documents regarding early warnings before the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attack, efforts to blackmail a senior officer for classified information, and a video showing former Defense Minister Gallant being blocked from entering Netanyahu's office after the Gaza war commenced.

Eli Feldstein, a spokesman who worked with Netanyahu and the central suspect in Netanyahu’s office security documents theft and leak scandal, was unable to publish the leaks in local media due to censorship, so he passed them on to foreign media, including the German Bild newspaper, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority KAN reported Sunday.

On Monday, Israeli prison authorities moved Feldstein to another prison cell over fears that he may commit suicide. KAN said that an indictment is expected to be filed against him by Thursday.
