Israeli violations to cease-fire deal with Lebanon
Seventh day of a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which halted over 14 months of fighting between the Israeli army and Hezbollah.
On Monday, two people were killed and six others injured, including an army soldier, in several Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army opened fire toward the town of Naqoura and launched two artillery shells at the village of Beit Lif in addition to firing heavy machine gun rounds toward Yaroun in southern Lebanon.
Marking its first response to Israeli violations of the cease-fire, Hezbollah said that it targeted the Israeli military post at Roueissat Al-Alam in the occupied Kfar Shouba Hills.
According to an Anadolu count, the Israeli army committed more than 70 violations since the Nov. 27 cease-fire.
Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza
In its second year, the ongoing Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip continues to claim the lives of more Palestinians and worsen their living conditions.
On Monday, at least three Palestinians were killed in two separate Israeli airstrikes on a gathering of civilians and a residential home in Gaza City and the Nusiertat refugee camp.
The total death toll due to the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip surged to nearly 44,500, with over 105,350 others injured, the Gaza Health Ministry said Monday.
Israel’s escalating blockade, ground invasion in northern Gaza Strip
Israel's two month’s incursion and bombardment of northern Gaza Strip have exacerbated shortages of food, water, fuel, and medicine, leaving most of the population there on the verge of imminent famine.
On Monday, at least 25 people were killed when Israeli warplanes hit and leveled an inhabited home in Beit Lahia.
Since last October, Israel has launched a large-scale ground operation in northern Gaza to allegedly prevent the Palestinian resistance group Hamas from regrouping.
More than 2,700 people have since been killed in northern Gaza, according to Palestinian health authorities.
West Bank raids
Almost daily Israeli military raids on Palestinian cities and towns in the occupied West Bank, and illegal settlers' violence against Palestinians and their properties.
On Monday, Israeli forces raided a school in the village of Dura al-Qar’, northeast of Ramallah, seizing surveillance camera footage and conducting field interrogations with students.
Israel has killed more than 801 people since October last year, including 160 children, and injured nearly 6,600 others, with more than 11,800 taken into custody.
Red Sea tensions
Red Sea tensions and the possible exchange of attacks between Israel and the US-UK coalition from one side and the Yemen’s Houthi group from the other.
On Monday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that it repelled an armed attack by the Houthi group targeting two US Navy destroyers in the Gulf of Aden off southern Yemen on Nov. 30 and Dec.1.
This followed a Sunday statement by the Yemeni group in which it said that it targeted a US destroyer and three supply ships belonging to the US military in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Aden.
UN Convention to Combat Desertification in Saudi Arabia
Speeches of the Arab representatives in the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The event kicked off on Monday, and during the opening session, Saudi Arabia was formally elected as president of the conference for a two-year term.
The conference, which will run through Dec. 13 under the theme “Our Land... Our Future,” brings together representatives from 196 countries, the European Union, experts, and civil society to support global efforts to combat land degradation, desertification, and drought while promoting sustainable development.
Security situation in Sudan
The latest developments on the intensified clashes between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which escalated over the past few days.
On Monday, the Sudanese army claimed that it killed some 30 RSF gunmen in the capital Khartoum, and Al-Fasher city in the North Darfur state, western Sudan.
The RSF's intensified shelling on the city left at least five people killed and others injured as a shell hit a livestock market in the city, according to a local committee in Al-Fasher.
The Sudanese army also said that it recaptured Um Al-Qura town in central Sudan amid military advances against the RSF.
