Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner have reached men's singles round 4 in the 2024 Australian Open on Friday.

The Serbian world No. 1 beat Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3, 6-3 and 7-6(2).

"It was a great match and the best performance I’ve had during this tournament," said the 10-time Australian Open champion.

Jannik Sinner, on the other hand, eliminated another Argentine, Sebastian Baez, with 6-0, 6-1, 6-3 straight sets.

"I played good tennis," said the Italian world No. 4. "I love the conditions today, because (there) was no wind and no sun."

Djokovic will take on French Adrian Mannarino, while Sinner will face Russian Karen Khachanov in round 4.

- Gauff advances to round 4, Andreeva continues fairytale run

Women's singles world No. 4 Coco Gauff and 16-year-old starling Mirra Andreeva both advanced to round 4 on Friday.

Gauff eliminated her compatriot Alycia Parks with 6-0, 6-2 straight sets.

"I was really just trying to do what I do against everybody else: keep the ball deep, open up the court, try to move her as much as I could," said the US player.

Meanwhile, Russian teenager Andreeva, who beat world No. 6 Ons Jabeur in the previous round, continues her fairytale run by beating French Diane Parry 1-6, 6-1 and 7-6 [10-5] in round 3.

"I don't think it's a big deal. I mean, fourth round, yes, I'm 16, maybe it's a bit new. Honestly, I don't think that I did something amazing. I'm just trying to win a match. I'm just trying to fight," Andreeva said.

Gauff will face Polish Magdalena Frech; while Andreeva will play against the winner of the Storm Hunter-Barbora Krejcikova match in the next round.
