ANKARA (AA) - Dallas Mavericks defeated Los Angeles Clippers 112-105 to get their fourth straight NBA victory on Friday.
Luka Doncic scored a career-high 51 points in the game held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Doncic dropped 28 points in the first quarter, which ended with Mavericks leading 36-28 – the highest-scoring quarter in the NBA this season.
"Well, tonight was just Luka," Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said about the performance of the 22-year-old. "... if he missed a couple or few of those (shots), then the game would have been different. But he made them, and that's why he's a great player."
The Mavericks are ranked fifth with 33 wins and 23 losses, while Clippers are placed eighth with 27 wins and 30 losses in the Western Conference standings.
