ISTANBUL (AA) - The Dow Jones ended its 13-day winning streak on Thursday, the longest for the index since January 1987.
The blue-chip Dow was down 237 points, or 0.67%, to close at 35,282.
The S&P 500 also lost 29 points, or 0.64%, to 4,537.
The Nasdaq decreased 77 points, or 0.55%, to finish the day at 14,050.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, jumped 9.2% to 14.41.
The 10-year US Treasury yield, meanwhile, rose 4.1% to 4.005%.
The dollar index increased 0.9% to 101.81, while the euro lost 1% to $1.0972 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold trimming 1.4% to $1,944 per ounce and silver plummeting 3.3% to $24.11.
Oil prices were up more than 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $83.46 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $79.86.
