ISTANBUL (AA) - The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 ended Monday with gains to mark their sixth record-high closes this year.
The blue-chip Dow was up 224 points, or 0.59%, to finish the session at 38,333.45. The S&P 500 rose almost 37 points, or 0.76%, to reach 4,927.93.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, jumped 127 points, or 1.12%, to 15,628.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 2.56% to 13.60. The 10-year US Treasury yield lost 2% to 4.080%.
The dollar index increased 0.05% to 103.49, while the euro lost 0.2% to $1.0831 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in positive territory, with gold adding 0.6% to $2,031 per ounce and silver rising 1.7% to $23.19.
Oil prices were on the decline, with global benchmark Brent crude losing 1.15% to $82.01 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude decreasing 1.3% to $76.97.
