ISTANBUL (AA) - Dutch semiconductor ASML projects a 56% to 60% increase in chip sales by 2030 because of artificial intelligence (AI) advancements, according to a statement Thursday.
“We expect annual revenue between approximately €44 billion ($46.3 billion) and €60 billion ($63.1 billion),” ASML CFO Roger Dassen said in the statement.
The company’s capabilities in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography technology have contributed to their AI opportunities, which is cited as the main driver for the increased sales projection.
ASML operates in the development and production of lithography technologies, which are used in projecting patterns on semiconductors. The advanced chips are then utilized to power systems, ranging from high-technology weapons to AI applications with various use cases.
