ANKARA (AA) - Irene Schouten of the Netherlands won her third gold in speedskating at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on Saturday.
Schouten, 29, won the women's Mass Start final on Saturday to receive her fourth medal in the 2022 Games.
In Beijing, she previously won gold medals in women's 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter events.
The Dutch team, which includes Schouten, claimed an Olympic bronze in the Team Pursuit.
On Saturday, Schouten racked up 60 sprint points in 16 laps to win the Mass Start final at the National Speed Skating Oval.
Canada's Ivanie Blondin got 40 points to bring home an Olympic silver, while Italy's Francesca Lollobrigida ranked third after gaining 20 points.
Lollobrigida was awarded a bronze.

The Swedish men's national curling team were crowned the champions in Beijing 2022 -- the country's first Olympic gold in the sport.
Led by Niklas Edin, Sweden beat British skip Bruce Mouat's Team, Great Britain, 5-4 to take the gold medal in Beijing.
Runners-up Great Britain had the silver medal.
