BERLIN (AA) - Germany said Monday that economic cooperation with Moscow is possible if it ends the war in Ukraine.
Russia will remain the largest country in Europe after the war, said Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations.
Therefore, he said, we should prepare for that era.
Reiterating that relations with Russia are presently significantly scaled down, Scholz added however that “a Russia that ends the war also needs the chance that it will be possible to start economic cooperation again.”
He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin not only destroyed many places in Ukraine and many lives for his imperial dreams but also the future of his own country.
