ISTANBUL (AA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Samih Shukri and his Saudi Arabian counterpart Faisal bin Farhan on Saturday discussed ways to end the fighting in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

In a phone call, the ministers discussed the latest situation in Palestine and the ways to stop the escalation and tension in the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

They underlined the importance of consultation and coordination to end the fighting in the Gaza Strip, which they said will have serious implications for regional peace.

On Saturday, Israeli warplanes destroyed a building in Gaza City with offices of various media groups, including Al Jazeera and the Associated Press.

Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip in airstrikes since May 10, killing at least 145 people, including 41 children and 23 women, and injuring 1,100 more people.

At least five multi-story buildings have also been destroyed in the air raids on the besieged Palestinian territory.
