CAIRO (AA) - Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on Monday held talks with Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe in Cairo, according to a statement released by al-Sisi’s office.
The meeting reportedly tackled “bilateral cooperation on the security and military levels and the ongoing fight against terrorism”.
Al-Sisi also stressed his country's desire to consolidate its ties with China, extolling the two countries’ “positive and strategic” partnership.
Wei, for his part, called for stepped-up cooperation in the defense and security fields.
Recent years have seen increasingly close military cooperation between Cairo and Beijing.
