ANKARA (AA) - Everton forward Wayne Rooney moved to the American football team DC United on Thursday.
The Major League Soccer (MLS) club DC United announced on its website that they signed Rooney.
It was reported that the 32-year-old English forward had signed a three-and-a-half year contract.
"Moving to America and MLS fulfills another career ambition for me. I have the hunger to be a success here and will give DC 100 percent -- as I have always done for every team I have ever played for", Rooney said.
Meanwhile the club didn't give any financial details about Rooney's signing.
Rooney played for Manchester United between 2004 and 2017, then he returned to his former club Everton.
Last season, Rooney had scored 11 goals in 40 appearances at Everton.
