TUNIS (AA) - Tunisian President Kais Saied received on Friday Ennahda movement head Rachid Ghannouchi, who briefed him on their prime ministerial candidate.
According to a statement issued by the Tunisian presidency, Ghannouchi shared the name of the candidate who will lead the upcoming government.
A source from within the movement told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity that the top choice was Habib al-Jamali, who served as a deputy minister from 2012-13.
Ennahda won Tunisia's parliamentary elections held last month.
Earlier this week, Ghannouchi was elected as the country's parliament speaker in a vote by lawmakers.
