Erdogan meets 8 leaders on G20 sidelines in Argentina

Turkish president held meetings with heads of state and government during two-day G20 summit

BUENOS AİRES (AA) – The Turkish president met eight heads of state and government on the sidelines of the two-day G20 summit.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the G20 summit in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires on Friday and Saturday.

On Saturday, he met his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump in a close-door meeting which lasted 50 minutes.

On Friday, Erdogan had a brief chat with Trump.

The Turkish president also held a closed-door meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and met Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

On the first day of the G20 summit, Erdogan held a closed door meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte which lasted nearly an hour.

In addition to the meeting with Rutte, Erdogan held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping for 30 minutes.

He also held talks with Chile’s President Sebastian Pinera for 35 minutes and British Prime Minister Theresa May.

Erdogan also attended a cultural event together with other world leaders at the Colon Theatre and they dined in the theatre's Golden Room afterwards.
