ANKARA (AA) – Turkey will not bow down to economic terrorism, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday, referring to foreign attacks targeting Turkish economy.

“The recent month’s attacks on our economy are the same as those with missiles, bombs, and bullets thrown at our borders,” Erdogan said in capital Ankara.

“However, we have not surrendered to armed and diplomatic terrorism, we have also not surrendered and will not surrender to economic terrorism,” he added.

The president stressed that whatever a certain foreign financial institution spoke about Turkey was “not of value.”

“The main thing is what we want, what we are doing and where we want to reach, as a country and nation," he said.

Speaking about his term as president, he said: “We have more than four years ahead of us in which we will not have any tension about elections."

"We are determined to realize the structural transformation that we need one by one,” the president added.
