ISTANBUL (AA) - Both the EU and eurozone economies grew 0.4% in 2023, the EU statistics office said on Friday.
The GDP growth rates of both economies were at 3.4% in 2022, Eurostat added.
On a quarterly basis, GDP was stable in both two regions in the last quarter of 2023 after falling 0.1% in the third quarter.
In the last quarter, the number of employed persons rose 0.3% in the euro area and 0.2% in the EU, compared with the previous quarter.
"In the third quarter of 2023, employment had increased by 0.2% in both zones," it said.
The eurozone/euro area, or EA19, represents member states that use the single currency – the euro – while the EU27 includes all member countries of the bloc.
