ISTANBUL (AA) - As the US and Russia prepare for talks to end the war in Ukraine, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas met on Thursday with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and reaffirmed the bloc's continued support for Kyiv.
"This morning, I met with Minister of Defence of Ukraine, @rustem_umerov. Minister Umerov assured me that Ukrainians are standing firm and will not give up their freedom and territory," Kallas said on X.
"Europe will stand firm too and continue supporting Ukraine in their fight," she added.
The Ukraine war will complete three years this month, and US President Donald Trump, who spoke to his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts on Wednesday, has vowed to end the "ridiculous" war.
