ISTANBUL (AA) - The EU's industrial production fell by 0.1% in March on a monthly basis, the European statistical authority announced on Tuesday.
Eurostat said the seasonally-adjusted industrial production index was 106.6 in March, compared to 106.7 in the previous month.
It noted: "In the EU28, production of non-durable consumer goods fell by 0.5% and energy by 0.2%, while production of intermediate goods remained unchanged, capital goods rose by 0.4% and durable consumer goods by 0.5%."
Malta recorded the highest decrease with 3.7% in the month among member states, following by Greece (2.7%), and Sweden (2.3%).
"The highest increases were observed in Lithuania (3.5%), Denmark (1.8%) and Slovakia (1.2%)," Eurostat said.
Meanwhile, the industrial production in the EU saw a decrease of 0.4% year-on-year in March, according to official figures.
