European exchanges close midweek higher

Italy’s FTSE MIB performs best, rising 0.72%

ISTANBUL (AA) - European stock exchanges closed Wednesday with gains.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, was up 1.68 points, or 0.33%, to 513.95.

The UK’s FTSE 100 increased 10 points, or 0.12%, to end the session at almost 8,283.

Germany’s DAX added 91 points, or 0.5%, to end at 18,448. France’s CAC 40 rose almost 39 points, or 0.52%, to 7,524.

Italy’s FTSE MIB, was the best performer of the day, rising nearly 237 points, or 0.72%, to 33,312.

Spain’s IBEX 35, meanwhile, increased 27 points, or 0.24%, to 11,114 at the closing bell.
