ISTANBUL (AA) - Stock exchanges in Europe closed Monday with losses after European Parliament elections wrapped up over the weekend, with right-wing parties making major gains.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 1.39 points, or 0.27%, to close at 522.16.
The UK's FTSE 100 shed 16 points, or 0.2%, to 8,228. Germany's DAX lost 62 points, or 0.34%, to 18,494.
France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, plummeting 107 points, or 1.35%, to end the session just below 7,894.
Spain's IBEX 35 lost 47 points, or 0.42%, to close at 11,357.
Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, declined 118 points, or 0.34%, to end the day at 34,542.
