BRUSSELS (AA) - The European Parliament’s Directorate General for Security and Safety on Wednesday issued an updated list of people and groups prohibited from the legislative body premises, which included the name of the PKK terror group.
However, the list did not mention the names of heads of PKK’s Europe branches who frequently attended PKK rallies.
In a statement, the security directorate said it accepted European Parliament President Antonio Tajani’s request “to not invite persons listed in the Council Decision or individuals representing entities or groups on that list, nor to facilitate their access to parliament”.
The parliament also unanimously approved that “these persons, entities and groups may not be promoted through audio-visual presentations or other events on parliament’s premises”.
In case of a possible presence or promotion on parliament’s premises of any such persons, groups and entities, the Directorate General for Security and Safety would be contacted, the statement added.
