European stock exchanges close Friday higher

Italy's FTSE MIB performs best, soaring 1.16%

ISTANBUL (AA) – European stock exchanges closed with gains on Friday to finish the week on a high note.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European markets in 17 countries, rose 3.62 points, or 0.82%, to end the day at 444.93.

Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 319 points, or 1.16%, to 27,810.

The UK's FTSE 100 was up 43 points, or 0.58%, to 7,494 at the final bell, while Germany's DAX jumped 159 points, or 1.06%, to 15,229.

France's CAC 40, meanwhile, added almost 62 points, or 0.88%, to conclude the session at 7,060.

Spain's IBEX 35 increased 78 points, or 0.85%, to end the week at 9,235.
