ANKARA (AA) – European stock markets closed with losses on Thursday in a major selloff, despite two indices reaching new record-high levels during the session.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 2.25 points, or 0.46%, to close at 487.70.
London’s FTSE 100 lost 35 points, or 0.48%, to end the day at 7,255.
Germany’s DAX 30 fell 29 points, or 0.18%, to finish at 16,2221, after seeing a record high of 16,290.19 during the session.
France’s CAC 40 declined 14 points, or 0.21%, to close at 7,141, and during the day, it hit an all-time high of 7,181.55 points.
Italy’s FTSE MIB 30 decreased 163 points, or 0.59%, to end the day at 27,661.
Spain’s IBEX 35 lost 90 points, or 1%, to close at 8,903.
