ISTANBUL (AA) — European stock exchanges closed Monday with major gains.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of European markets in 17 countries, was up 3.76 points, or 0.73%, to close at 518.87.
The UK's FTSE 100 rose 43 points, or 0.53%, to finish at 8,281, while Germany’s DAX gained 162 points, or 0.89%, to reach 18,325.
France's CAC 40 increased 78 points, or 1.03%, to close the session at 7,706.
Spain's IBEX 35 almost 140 points, or 1.27%, to end the day at 11,172.
Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 526 points, or 1.58%, to hit 33,834 by the closing bell.
