ISTANBUL (AA) — Stock exchanges in Europe ended Wednesday with major gains, partially recovering the previous day's losses.
The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, rose 5.6 points, or 1.08%, to close at 522.89.
The UK's FTSE 100 added 67 points, or 0.83%, to reach 8,215 and Germany's DAX jumped almost 261 points, or 1.42%, to 18,630.
France's CAC 40 increased 75 points, or 0.97%, to end the session at 7,864. Spain's IBEX 35 gained nearly 70 points, or 0.63%, to close at 11,245.
Italy's FTSE MIB was the best performer of the day, soaring 484 points, or 1.43%, to end at 34,358.
