The unemployment rate in the euro area was stable for the fourth consecutive month at 6.5% in February, the EU's statistical office announced on Wednesday.
The number of jobless rose by 17,000 in the single currency zone, compared to January.
Some 13.3 million people in the EU, including 11.1 million in the euro area, were unemployed during the month.
The EU-wide unemployment, which includes countries that are in the bloc but do not use its common currency, also remained unchanged at 6% in February compared to both the prior month and a year earlier.
The youth unemployment was 14.8% in the EU and 14.6% in the euro area.
