ATHENS (AA) – The European Union’s (EU) foreign policy chief on Monday lauded the visa liberalization with Kosovo.
"A historic decision by the EU enters into force. Kosovo’s citizens can as of today travel to the EU visa-free. This brings significant benefits to both Kosovo & the EU. The entire Western Balkans are now connected to the Schengen area through visa liberalisation," Josep Borrell said on X.
As of Jan. 1, Kosovars will be able to travel to the Schengen region without a visa for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, and thus there will be no country left in the Western Balkans that cannot travel to the region without a visa.
