KANO, Nigeria (AA) – At least three people were killed in an explosion in Nigeria’s Kogi state on Thursday morning.
The blast took place in the city of Okene hours before the scheduled arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari, according to local media reports.
The explosion occurred near the palace of Kogi’s traditional ruler Ado Ibrahim.
Authorities are yet to confirm that it was a bomb blast, with some media outlets reporting it may have been caused by a power transformer.
The identities of the three victims is also yet to be ascertained.
