BAGHDAD (AA) - Two banks in the Iraqi capital were targeted with explosives late Sunday, leaving two people injured, said a security source.
Speaking to state media, Lieut. Gen. Ahmed Salim, the commander of Baghdad operations, said the sound bombs simultaneously targeted one bank near the National Theater and a second one in Al-Wathiq Square, both in Karrada district.
Both banks sustained material damage.
Salim did not share details or information on the perpetrators of the attacks.
The Iraqi government's security media cell confirmed the attacks were carried out with sound bombs.
