ANKARA (AA) - Two people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus ahead of Hungarian Grand Prix, Formula 1 announced on Friday.
''The FIA and Formula 1 can today confirm that between Friday 10th July and Thursday 16th July, 4,997 tests for COVID-19 have been performed on drivers, teams and personnel. Of these, two people have tested positive,'' Formula 1 said.
Formula 1 did not disclose identities of the infected people, but said they did not participate in the first two races of the season in Austria.
“No specific details as to teams or individuals will be provided by the FIA or Formula 1 and results will be made public every 7 days,” it said.
The third race of the season in 2020 Formula 1 World Championship will be held in Hungary on Sunday.
