ANKARA (AA) - Formula One announced on Monday that the 2022 season would feature a record 23 races.
F1 said on its official website that despite the coronavirus pandemic, the championship currently features 22 races, the most in history, and that it aims to "go one better" next season.
According to the article, the organization's President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said in an interview: "I can anticipate that, for sure, the calendar will be done with 23 races."
He expressed the need to secure "the right rhythm" to the racing calendar, adding: "There are of course considerations related to periods to make sure logistically the flow has to be right."
Domenicali confirmed that next year, the season would start in the middle of March and finish in the middle of November.
