ISTANBUL (AA) – An award-winning Hungarian cellist is set to perform at Istanbul’s Is Sanat culture center on Nov. 12.
Soloist Istvan Vardai will perform at the Istanbul Ensemble concert to be conducted by Turkey’s Presidential Symphony Orchestra's (CSO) first Conductor Rengim Gokmen.
The Is Sanat, the most prestigious arts and culture center in Turkey, will kick off its new season with the Istanbul Ensemble concert, which comprises 60 independent musicians, at the Maximum Uniq Hall.
Vardai, who will meet with music fans in Istanbul for the second time after his 2014 concert with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, will perform Edward Elgar's cello concerto.
The repertoire of the opening concert will also include Gioacchino Rossini's The Thief Magpie Overture and Ludwig van Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony.
