ANKARA (AA) - Istanbul powerhouse Fenerbahce beat Genclerbirligi 5-2 in opening match of Turkish Super Lig's 14th week on Friday.
Genclerbirligi's Ivorian player Giovanni-Guy Yann Sio gave an early lead to his team in eighth minute.
But Fenerbahce responded quickly against the Ankara team's goal and made the score 3-1 after they found three goals in 22 minutes at the first half.
Fenerbahce's first half goals were scored by Kosovan striker Vedat Muriqi's (2) and Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo.
In the second half, the fans witnessed three more goals in Ulker Stadium.
Dutch midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu found the net with a classy goal in the 74th minute making the score 4-1.
Romanian forward Bogdan Stancu scored his team's second goal only four minutes after Fenerbahce's fourth goal changing the score to 4-2.
Yellow Canaries' German star Max Kruse scored his first league goal in 87th minute to bring comfortable victory to his team and made tonight's score 5-2.
Before capturing three points tonight, Fenerbahce had two consecutive draws over Goztepe and Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkish Super Lig.
The Istanbul club jumped to second place with 25 points following tonight's victory.
