BERLIN (AA) - A fire broke out in a refugee shelter in southern Germany, resulting in the death of one person and wounding three others, authorities said on Monday.
Police said the fire broke out around 5 p.m. local time (1600GMT) on Sunday in a refugee housing facility in Noerdlingen, where around 130 asylum seekers were living.
According to the emergency services, one person died and three others were taken to hospital with light injuries. The fire was contained and fully extinguished in several hours.
A police spokesman told public broadcaster Bayerische Rundfunk (BR) that the cause of the fire is still unclear and remains under investigation.
Refugees living in the shelter were transferred to a nearby school complex to stay the night.
