ANKARA (AA) - Flamengo won the Copa do Brasil on Thursday, beating the Corinthians 6-5 in a penalty shootout.
In the final, Flamengo drew early blood with Pedro's goal in the seventh minute at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
The Corinthians' Giuliano netted a late equalizer in minute 82 as the regular time ended with 1-1 draw.
After the sixth penalties ended 5-5, the Corinthians' Mateus Vital missed, while Rodinei of Flamengo scored in the seventh, bagging his team's fourth Copa do Brasil.
Cruzeiro, who have six titles, are the most successful club in the cup's history.
