ISTANBUL (AA) - Flights from Istanbul to Iraq, Iran and Jordan scheduled for Tuesday night and Wednesday have been canceled, due to rising tensions between Iran and Israel and the closure of airspace.
Domestic and international airlines canceled flights from Istanbul and Sabiha Gokcen airports to those destinations following Iran's airstrike on Israel.
Many airlines also diverted flights en route to those countries, redirecting them to Istanbul, Sabiha Gokcen and nearby airports.
Several foreign aircraft, facing fuel shortages because of the closure of airspace, were rerouted to Istanbul and Sabiha Gokcen airports.
