BERLIN (AA) - All flights from Germany’s Hamburg airport are temporarily suspended due to a security threat, authorities said on Monday.
“Due to an ongoing police operation, takeoffs and landings are currently not possible,” the airport operator said in a statement on social media.
According to the public broadcaster NDR, the police are currently searching a plane which arrived from the Iranian capital Tehran.
The police received earlier a tipoff via e-mail about a possible bomb attack, the report said.
The plane, which landed in Hamburg at around 12.20 p.m. local time (1020GMT) had 198 passengers and 16 crew members on board.
