ISTANBUL (AA) – “Many” people lost their lives due to floods in the central Ghor province of Afghanistan on Friday, said the spokesman for the interim Taliban administration.
Zabihullah Mujahid did not give the number of people killed in the floods, however, Khaama Press news agency reported that at least 50 people were killed in the center of Ferozkoh while 2,000 houses were completely destroyed.
“To our benevolent donors, we appeal for assistance in aiding the affected families,” Mujahid said.
The latest floods came after torrential rains caused floods and landslides in north and northeastern regions of Afghanistan last week, killing more than 300 people.
