ANKARA (AA) - Algeria have advanced to last four stage in the Africa Cup of Nations after beating Ivory Coast 4-3 on penalties at Suez Stadium in Egypt on Thursday.
Turkish club Galatasaray’s right-winger Feghouli gave Algeria lead in the 20th minute of the game, 1-0.
In the 48th minute of the match, Algeria were awarded a penalty but Bounedjah hit the bar as the nation missed a chance to double the gap against Ivory Coast.
Aston Villa forward Kodija from Ivory Coast equalized the game in the 62nd of the game and the match went into extra-time.
Both teams were not able to break the deadlock and the penalty shootout determined the winners.
On penalties, Algeria beat Ivory Coast 4-3 and qualified for the last four.
Algeria will face Nigeria in the AFCON semifinals on July 14.
