ISTANBUL (AA) - Sports authorities from members of the Organization of Turkic States held a meeting Thursday during the annual 74th FIFA Congress, being held this year in Thailand's capital Bangkok.
The Turkish Football Federation announced that President Mehmet Buyukeksi and FIFA Director Member Associations Europe Elkhan Mammadov participated in the meeting, along with representatives from full members Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan and observers Hungary and Turkmenistan.
The federation added that Mustafa Erogut, its vice president, executive committee member, and board member responsible for FIFA, UEFA, and foreign relations, had also attended the meeting, along with General Secretary Taner Senseven and Bugra Imamogullari, foreign relations and national teams administrative director.
It noted that under the current cooperation agreement within the Organization of Turkic States, it was decided that the Turkish Football Federation would start serving as council chair for a year as of June 1.
