ANKARA (AA) - Spanish football giants Real Madrid star Luka Modric sustained a thigh injury, the club said Thursday.
"Los Blancos" (The Whites) medical team announced on official website that Modric "has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the adductor in his right leg."
Modric is under treatment of team doctors, Real Madrid said.
The Croatian midfielder joined the Spanish team in August 2012.
Modric won four UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The 34-year-old player produced 17 goals and 48 assists in 305 appearances for 'Los Blancos'.
He previously played for Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia and English club Tottenham Hotspur.
He was the captain of Croatia national team that reached 2018 FIFA World Cup final. Croatia were beaten by France 4-2 in the 2018 final in Moscow.
Individually, Modric also managed to win Ballon d'Or award and UEFA Best Player in Europe Award in 2018.
