ANKARA (AA) - Real Madrid defeated Real Valladolid 1-0 Tuesday in an away match, jumping to first place in the Spanish La Liga.
Playing at Jose Zorrilla Stadium, Spanish defender Nacho Fernandes' header goal brought victory for the Whites.
Valencia meanwhile defeated Barcelona 2-0 with Maximilian Gomes's two goals while Sevilla also beat Granada with the same score.
These results helped Real Madrid jump to first place with 46 points.
Barcelona slipped to second place with 43 points while Sevilla is in third place with 38 points.
In Italian Serie A, league leaders Juventus lost to Napoli 2-1 at San Paolo Stadium while second-placed Inter were held to a 1-1 draw against Cagliari at Giuseppe Meazza stadium.
The Rome derby between Roma and Lazio finished in a draw, with the opening goal of the match coming from Edin Dzeko of the Yellow-Reds and Lazio’s thanks to Francesco Acerbi.
Juventus remain at the top of the Serie A with 51 points despite the loss.
Inter boosted their points to 48 with a draw against Cagliari, taking them to second place.
With 46 points, Lazio are in third place on the table.

In the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt snapped leader Leipzig's 13-match unbeaten series as they beat them 2-0.
Defending champs Bayern Munich hammered Schalke 04 5-0 in a Saturday home game while Borussia Monchengladbach defeated Mainz 05 3-1 at Borussia-Park.
Leaders Leipzig, who got 40 points from 19 games, are followed by Bayern Munich with 39 points and Borussia Monchengladbach with 38 points.
In the French Ligue 1, leaders Paris Saint-Germain beat Lille 2-0 in an away match while Olympique Marseille were held to a scoreless draw by Angers and Marseille are currently 10 points behind PSG.
Third-placed Rennes were held to a 1-1 draw against Nice at Allianz Riviera.
Paris Saint-Germain topped the league with 52 points, followed by Olympique Marseille with 42 points and Rennes with 37 points.
