ANKARA (AA) - English football club Tottenham Hotspur were crowned champions of the 2019 Audi Cup late Wednesday.
Tottenham eliminated tournament hosts Bayern Munich in the final on penalties to lift the Audi Cup in Munich, Germany.
The team led the first half 1-0 at the Allianz Arena as Argentine winger Erik Lamela scored.
Tottenham’s Danish star Christian Eriksen doubled the gap in the 59th minute.
But Bayern managed to equalize as German forward Jann-Fiete Arp and Canadian winger Alphonso Davies put the ball into Tottenham’s net.
The final ended 2-2, so a penalty shootout decided the winner.
Tottenham claimed the trophy, winning 6-5 on penalties, while Bayern Munich finished in second place.
During a ceremony after the match, Tottenham's French midfielder Moussa Sissoko hoisted the cup.
