ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s Fenerbahce beat Manchester United 2-1 on Thursday in a Europa League group stage game.
Playing at the Ulker Stadium Sukru Saracoglu Sport Complex in Istanbul, Fenerbahce defeated the English club thanks to goals from Senegalese forward Moussa Sow in the 2nd minute and Dutch rightwinger Jeremain Lens in the 59th.
English forward Wayne Rooney scored Manchester United only goal in the 89th minute.
Fenerbahce currently stand in first place of Group A with 7 points in four matches. Dutch team Feyenoord are second with 7 points. Manchester United find themselves in third place with six points.
Fenerbahce had lost 4-1 to United in Manchester on Oct. 20.
