ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish lira lost ground against the U.S. dollar on Monday with Brexit hangover, losing nearly one percent against the dollar at 2.938 compared to Friday's closing at 2.917.
The lira was also negative on Friday, weakening 1.46 percent against the dollar to close at 2.9175. The lira came under further pressure as investors were looking for a safe haven for their money such as government bonds, dollar and Japanese Yen.
The two-year benchmark bond was traded within a range of 9.08 percent-9.20 percent on Friday, ending during the day at a high of 9.20 percent, 23 base points above its previous close.
