ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish lira gained ground against major currencies on Monday.
The lira, which lost 5 percent of its value to the U.S. dollar after the July 15 coup attempt, gained slightly to open at 2.9850 against the dollar from Friday's close of 3.0145.
On Friday, the local fixed income markets were relatively flat. The two-year benchmark bond ended at 9.25 percent, 6 base points below its previous close.
